Our take on Stage of Light
The sandbox puts stage construction and show programming at the center, so its appeal depends on enjoying those activities without a stated campaign structure. Its tools offer room to arrange stages and control fixtures, but the focus is narrower than a game built around varied objectives.
What is Stage of Light?
Stage of Light is a sandbox for building concert stages and creating lighting shows.
Procedural tools let players shape trusses, scaffolding, stage floors, and video-panel structures. The game includes 19 lighting fixtures, a DMX-controlled fire machine, and a seven-axis industrial robot available in three sizes. Devices can be triggered by DMX, while MIDI support includes keys, faders, knobs, and grid controllers. Two in-game DMX consoles offer different fixture capacities and controls: the Dmx 960 supports up to 40 fixtures, while the M5000 controls virtually unlimited fixtures. Players can map generated 2D visuals onto video panels, record their work to a save file, and load it again to continue.
