Our take on Splatter
Enemies learn from the player's behavior, making adaptation part of the wave-based shooting rather than a fixed sequence of encounters.
What is Splatter?
Splatter is a first-person shooter set inside a surreal virtual consciousness created by four unidentified administrators.
Combat involves defeating successive groups of enemies that respond to player actions, firing finger guns, drinking energy beverages, and regulating brain chemistry. Players move through unusual locations, build scores with a style-based system, and compete on online leaderboards. Defeated enemies leave persistent, physically simulated blood, while visual tones change and stages move with the music. Performance also influences the soundtrack.
Optional difficulty hacks allow challenge adjustments. The narrative follows an attempt to endure this digital world and discover why its captors created it. Warnings cover flashing imagery, distorted visuals, strong language, and references to self-harm, substance use, prejudice, sexual violence, abduction, and coercive religious groups.
