Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who dislike time pressure may hit a wall when limited turns must be used before guards react.
- Those who prefer one continuous character role may find the switch between spirit scouting and thief looting interrupting.
- Players looking for combat-focused encounters may find the emphasis on scouting, sneaking, and stealing a mismatch.
Our take on Spirited Thief
The key sticking point is the turn limit: players who want to search every room at leisure may have to choose between uncovering secrets and getting out before the guards notice.
What is Spirited Thief?
Spirited Thief is a turn-based heist game about two partners: Trin, an intangible spirit, and Elaj, a thief.
First, scout locations as Trin to find routes, secret passages, and treasure without being detected. Then take control of Elaj to enter, collect loot, and escape before guards respond. Missions take place in settings such as castles, dungeons, crypts, and occult lairs. Players can sneak past enemies, open locked doors, and break magical barriers. Briefings provide information about each job, leaving room to search for secrets or attempt a faster theft. Ill-gotten gains can be exchanged for new abilities. The pair work for a thieves' guild and occasionally receive help from allies.
How Spirited Thief plays
- 01Two-part heists

- 03Ability upgrades
- Loot can be spent to acquire new skills for the characters.
- 04Multiple infiltration routes
- Jobs include hidden passages, locked doors, enemies, and magical barriers to navigate.
