The defining mechanic is the flashlight’s limited charge: it destroys shadow monsters immediately, but recharging requires reaching streetlights that appear unpredictably around the campus.
What is Speedway Survival?
Speedway Survival is an adventure game set on UT Austin’s Speedway during a blood-moon curse.
Sola uses a magical flashlight to destroy shadow monsters and search for her sister, Luna. The flashlight loses its charge, so players must reach randomly illuminated streetlights around the campus to recharge it. Hand-drawn enemies pursue Sola, including creatures based on animals seen around Speedway. Sola talks to herself while moving through campus and may meet other people for conversations that provide context. Story Mode follows a path toward the UT Tower and a rescue attempt. Endless Mode continues until Sola is defeated, awarding upgrades after each round while enemies become stronger.
