- Players wanting a purely single-mode shooter may not prefer its mix of camp defense, motorcycle runs, and survival stages
Our take on Spark The Battle Dog
Rather than centering its action on a human hero, the game casts a military dog as the armed protector of a boy carrying a possible cure. Its stage structure also alternates between defending a camp, gathering supplies on a motorcycle, and surviving direct attacks.
What is Spark The Battle Dog?
Spark The Battle Dog is a top-down shooter set after a virus turns most people into zombies.
Spark, a military dog trained to use weapons, must escort Thomas, whose DNA may contain a cure, to a human refuge. Gameplay uses three stage types: defending the camp while enemies attack Thomas’s hut, riding a motorcycle through infected roads to gather supplies, and surviving waves where Spark becomes the target. Weapons and the camp can be upgraded between challenges. The game includes 72 stages and 5 boss battles, with mutant animals led by King Brutus opposing Spark’s mission.
How Spark The Battle Dog plays
- 01Camp defense stages
- Enemies concentrate on the shelter holding Thomas, making camp improvements part of the defense process.
- 02Motorcycle supply runs
- Spark travels along infected roads to collect supplies while fighting through the route.
- 03Horde survival stages
- Some stages place Spark at the center of attacks by large groups of zombies.
- 04Weapon progression
- Weapons can be upgraded across the game.
- 05Camp progression
- The camp has upgradeable defenses for protecting Thomas.
- 06Boss encounters
- The campaign contains 5 boss battles.
Spark The Battle Dog compared to similar games
Hentai Vs Furries is also a shooter, but it uses a third-person perspective, multiple camera angles, quests for skins, and a main mode alongside a separate pleasure mode. Spark The Battle Dog instead uses a top-down format built around camp defense, supply rides, survival stages, weapon and camp upgrades, and escorting Thomas.
