Our take on Space to Grow
The premise covers parenting, farming, and colony politics, but the defined structure is a branching visual novel with four endings. The farm functions as part of the narrative decision-making rather than as an independently described, open-ended management game.
What is Space to Grow?
Play as Jack, a farmer, father, and community member on a space colony.
Raise a daughter from infancy through adulthood while choosing a parenting style and responding to situations involving friendships, behavior, and social pressure. Plan a customizable farm around calories, nutrition, and value, then negotiate among three groups: the R. E. T. megacorporation and its miners, fellow colonists, and independent farmers outside the colony. Dialogue choices set Jack’s attitude toward his family, farm, and community. Parenting decisions influence the child’s competence, independence, and attachment, with branching paths leading to four endings across 150,000 words. The game includes discussions of reproductive health, alcohol, and death, and is suitable for teens and older.
How Space to Grow plays
- 01Parenting decisions
- Choices made during the daughter’s development affect her competence, independence, and attachment.
- 02Colony faction politics
- Negotiations involve corporate miners, established colonists, and farmers living beyond the colony.
- 03Farm resource planning
- Crop selection balances food energy, nutritional value, and economic worth.
- 04Branching narrative
- The 150,000-word story uses choice-driven paths that conclude in four possible endings.
