SimulationIs Slay or Fall worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy text-driven roguelikes with branching consequences
- Dungeon-management fans who want faction politics alongside combat
- Strategy players who prefer repeated runs with several possible ways to defeat enemies
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct, action-focused combat may bounce off the text events and management decisions.
- Players wanting a fixed campaign may find the repeated-run structure and changing outcomes too variable.
- Players uninterested in faction management or political decisions may lose interest between combat skirmishes.
Our take on Slay or Fall
The bounce point arrives when a hero attack becomes a chain of text choices, faction orders, and political decisions rather than direct dungeon action. Players who want constant combat may hit the wall during the event and management sections, where consequences depend on their choices.
What is Slay or Fall?
Play as a Dark Lord defending a dungeon from heroes who will eventually confront you.
Slay or Fall combines text-based roguelike runs with management, combat skirmishes, and political decisions. Choose responses during branching events, issue orders to subordinates, use magic, and deal with four factions: Goblins, Cultists, Lizards, and Ratfolks. Each group has distinct traits and capabilities, including treasury income, loyal magic users, logistics, espionage, and assassination. Decisions affect the heroes and the player, while multiple presets, varied heroes, and different event outcomes support repeated runs. Heroes can be defeated through battle, attacks within the dungeon, starvation, morale reduction, mental corruption, conspiracies, or discord among travelers.
