Our take on Soul Sader
The premise sets up a looming disaster, but the described play focuses on fighting five knights, collecting their powers, and reaching a final opponent. The page gives concrete controls and combat rules, while offering little detail on how the wider story unfolds.
What is Soul Sader?
Soul Sader is a cross-scrolling action RPG about a knight preparing to face a disaster.
Since the knight’s own strength is not enough, the goal is to defeat five other knights and gain their powers before confronting the final disaster knight. Portals take the player directly to the other knights, who resist rather than obey. Combat centers on attacking and dodging; successful attacks build energy for using a knight’s power. Defeated knights’ souls can be equipped to access new abilities. The knight can also resurrect at a temple. Movement uses the left and right direction keys, while dodging combines the down key with a direction key. Pressing Q activates an equipped soul’s power when enough energy has been gathered.
