What is Songs of the HMong?
In a paper-cut storybook setting, Xiao Miao, a young Hmong girl, travels with an amnesiac elder while searching for memories and seeds connected to the Sacred Tree.
She moves across mountains, forests, spirit-filled areas, and layered paper landscapes. Musical notation found during exploration can be turned into melodies that change the environment, including rousing dormant stone figures and forming vine bridges. The game takes inspiration from the Song of the Maple and incorporates reworked Hmong folk music into its world, puzzles, and unfolding journey.
