We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Tabletop role-playing fans who want a rules-based digital campaign
- Tactical RPG players who enjoy turn-based party combat
- Exploration-focused players who want to choose routes through a fantasy continent
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want real-time combat will hit a wall when encounters require turn-based decisions
- Players seeking a tightly linear campaign may resist the freedom to choose roads or wilderness routes
- Players looking for a small-scale adventure may find a four-character party and continent-spanning journey too involved
Our take on Solasta II
Players who do not enjoy turn-based tactical decisions will likely bounce off at the first combat encounter, where spells, attacks, and party actions must be chosen in sequence. Those expecting a fixed route may also resist once exploration opens multiple paths across Neokos.
What is Solasta II?
Guide a group of four heroes across Neokos, a distant continent threatened by the mysterious Shadwyn.
Their expedition is tied to a family inheritance, with players directing the party’s decisions, preparing spells, and using abilities such as sneak attacks and smites. Dice rolls determine the results of actions during encounters. Beyond combat, Neokos can be traversed freely: travel may follow known roads or move through untamed regions. Exploring gradually reveals the surrounding map and leaves the route through the landscape to player choice. Solasta II builds on the tabletop-inspired format of Solasta: Crown of the Magister, continuing that style with a different group of adventurers and a new setting.
