What is Sol Trader?
Sol Trader combines top-down 2D spaceflight with trading and relationship management.
Each game begins with the character’s birth, followed by early-life choices that shape personality, skills, family ties, business contacts and enemies. A procedurally generated society contains thousands of characters whose lives continue to change as the game progresses. Players can borrow or hire a ship, travel between planets, trade goods, run missions, research people through conversations, and use personal connections with government or business. Ships can be fitted with guns, engines, hyperdrives and passenger cabins, while multiple vessels can be owned. The game has no fixed story; events and interactions emerge from the generated world. Modding tools cover organisations, events, weapons, planets, ships, conversations and tutorials.
