Our take on Smoke and Sacrifice
The game shifts the usual heroic RPG quest toward a mother searching for a sacrificed child. It also makes living ecosystems part of survival, while the icy wasteland, hidden underworld, and life-threatening smoke replace a more familiar fantasy backdrop.
What is Smoke and Sacrifice?
Smoke and Sacrifice is an open-world, narrative-driven RPG set in an icy wasteland illuminated by a Sun Tree.
Sachi, a mother forced to sacrifice her firstborn child, enters a dangerous underworld to uncover a darker truth about what happened to him. Survival involves crafting, fighting, exploring, and exploiting living ecosystems. The world contains strange creatures, deadly smoke that threatens life and memory, and characters with their own stories. Sachi begins in a small fertile settlement whose farming community depends on the Sun Tree after the natural sun failed. Her investigation leads beneath the appearance of priestly benevolence and into a hidden underworld with its own dangers.
