Our take on SMACKHEAD
Its focus on reaching marked portals keeps progression directed, but leaves less room for open-ended exploration. The three-life limit also makes mistakes costly, trading repeated attempts for a tighter run-based structure.
What is SMACKHEAD?
SMACKHEAD is an action game set in a coma dream, where progression depends on locating portals and moving deeper through the levels.
Players collect clocks to extend available time and can gather items that provide additional lives or time. The game contains 10 levels with two difficulty settings, deadly hazards, trampolines, patrolling enemies, and an arrow showing the next portal's location. Enemies can be shot, while warping visuals and an intense soundtrack shape the presentation. The player has only three lives, and completing the full level set leads to an ultimate completion achievement. The game also includes three achievements.
How SMACKHEAD plays

- Players can shoot enemies that patrol the levels.
- 04Life pickups
