Our take on SkyBoats
Instead of using territory control or unit clashes as its central structure, the game makes wind patterns part of its trading system. Goods can satisfy city demands, shape movement routes, and generate further production, linking logistics with navigation.
What is SkyBoats?
SkyBoats is a single-player strategy game based on Euro-board-game mechanics.
Players take the role of skyfaring merchants serving three sky cities, collecting goods and selling them to meet city demands before time expires. Goods also provide wind patterns: placing one creates wind spaces that boats can use for movement and increased prowess. Wind patterns can be flipped to reverse their direction and can generate additional goods, giving players control over production. Each boat can use every cargo space once per turn, while empty spaces can provide fuel. A ladder and ranking system, combined with procedural generation, provides continuing strategic challenges as the player's rank develops. Sessions are intended to last 30 minutes or less.
