Our take on Skewer Squad
Instead of defending a conventional base with familiar units, the game turns food skewers into towers and mice into the attacking force. Its structure also replaces extended tower-defense sessions with 20-minute roguelite runs built around random ingredients, seasonings, and items.
What is Skewer Squad?
Skewer Squad is a tower defense roguelite set at a mysterious barbecue stall.
As the Grillmaster, players defend a grill from mice attracted to the skewers. Skewers function as towers: they can shoot, bounce, splash, or push enemies from the field. Each run lasts 20 minutes and begins with drafting random ingredients. The game includes more than 20 Grillmasters with distinct talents, over 40 foods with effects such as splitting, bouncing, and knockback, and more than 100 seasonings and items that appear randomly. These choices shape each squad and create different runs. The structure focuses on short matches, with progression during each defense centered on combining food and seasoning effects.
