Our take on Sisypush
The level count may suggest a substantial campaign, but the stated completion estimate is only 2–5 hours. Its scope is a compact puzzle game, with replay value coming from route optimization and ratings rather than an extended story or large-scale progression.
What is Sisypush?
Sisypush is a 1-bit puzzle game set in the ancient Greek underworld.
Each level requires moving one special rock onto a target tile while clearing obstacles and other objects. More than 70 stages are arranged across five worlds, with a new mechanic introduced in each world. Larger rocks, rivers, and ice add different movement challenges. A branching map controls level progression, and completing enough stages opens the route to the next world. Players can undo moves without limit and optionally optimize routes for higher ratings. The game includes controller support, remappable controls, text-to-speech narration, adjustable audio settings, and options to disable screen shake and gamepad vibration. The vendor estimates completion at 2–5 hours depending on Sokoban experience.
How Sisypush plays
- 01World-based progression
- Stages are grouped into five worlds, with enough completed levels required to open each subsequent area.
- 02Changing puzzle mechanics
- Every world adds a new rule or object, including examples such as large rocks, water routes, and slippery ice.
- 03Branching level map
- The stage-selection screen presents alternate paths rather than a single linear sequence.
- 04Unlimited move reversals
- Players can undo previous actions without a stated limit.
- 05Text-to-speech narration
- Narration covers interface elements and can describe tile coordinates and contents during play.
- 06Remappable controls
- Keyboard keys and controller buttons can be assigned to the in-game actions.
- 07Route rating system
- Completed stages can be replayed to seek a higher rating by optimizing the route.
