Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign or a world packed with activities may reach the end after roughly 2–3 hours.
- Fans of traditional Metroidvanias may find the action-adventure structure too limited.
- Players who want rapid, high-speed platforming may bounce off the deliberately slower pace.
- Players looking for multiplayer or shooter gameplay will not find those systems here.
Our take on Simona's Requiem
The likely bounce point is the deliberately slow rhythm: players expecting fast platforming may feel the drag during traversal and combat. Metroidvania fans may also stop at the compact action-adventure structure rather than a larger upgrade-driven map.
What is Simona's Requiem?
Play as Simona, a servant of the Purple Cloak Reapers, tasked with claiming the soul of the Fisher King after he hides behind the moon.
Travel through interconnected areas of Lunatergo, including caves and plains, and fight roaming beasts with the Moonlit Scythe. Search three Manors for clues related to the quest, discover secrets, and collect epitaphs that reveal past events. Ability upgrades provide new ways to move through the environment and overcome challenges. The game uses a slower pace than other fast platformers and presents a medium level of difficulty. Its structure is closer to an action-adventure platformer than a traditional Metroidvania, with approximately 2–3 hours of gameplay.
