Our take on Agonize
The defining structure is cooperative serum preparation: players search the manor for clues and materials, then must match the correct mixture to the creature they face.
What is Agonize?
Set in a 1950s abandoned manor, Agonize follows a group investigating the experiments of scientist Charles Dwyer, whose attempts to restore his family created uncontrollable beasts.
Teams of 1 to 4 players search the house for clues, tools, and serums. Players can divide tasks or stay together while identifying the materials needed for each creature. The correct concoction is required to survive, while using the wrong serum can be fatal. Randomized spawn points and interactions create different problems across new games. Online play includes public lobbies, radio communication, and proximity voice chat. The game uses a minimal HUD and a horror setting built around exploration, cooperation, and dangerous encounters.
How Agonize plays
- 01Four-player co-op
- Online groups can include between 1 and 4 players, either with friends or through a lobby.
- 02Randomized encounters
- Spawn locations and interactions change between games, producing different search conditions.
- 03Serum-based survival
- Players collect materials and prepare a creature-specific mixture, with an incorrect choice carrying fatal consequences.
- 04Proximity communication
- Radio and local voice channels support coordination while players explore the manor.
