Our take on SHUTEN ORDER
Rather than using one adventure format throughout, the game assigns each of its five routes a different structure, including stealth horror, detective investigation, multi-character visual novel scenes, romance, and escape-room trials. The shared murder mystery connects these otherwise distinct genres.
What is SHUTEN ORDER?
SHUTEN ORDER follows Rei, the resurrected founder of a religious nation, whose memories are gone and life is limited to four days.
To survive, Rei must identify and kill the murderer. The investigation branches into five routes, each focused on one of the Shuten Order’s ministers and using a different gameplay structure. Players can flee a killer while solving puzzles in 3D stages, investigate murders through interviews and evidence analysis, switch between characters during a terrorist attack, pursue relationships at Shuten Academy, or escape dangerous locked-room trials. Dialogue choices, timed decisions, map-based searches, crime-scene examination, and branching outcomes shape the routes. Completing them reveals more about the culprit and the fate of the world.
