Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-driven campaign with a defined ending may find the endless structure repetitive.

- Solo players looking for a primarily cooperative experience may not use the local multiplayer focus.
Our take on Shmadow
Rather than following a fixed arcade stage sequence, the game uses endless enemy streams and boss-based power progression. Its darkness mechanic also makes visibility part of the combat, while local four-player co-op shifts the usual solo shooter format toward shared play.
What is Shmadow?
Shmadow combines twin-stick shooting with side-scrolling and a darkness mechanic.
Players use light-based attacks against hidden enemies, dodge incoming bullets, and defeat bosses. Destroyed bosses leave behind power-ups linked to their defenses, which can be combined with a chosen starting ability for later fights. The game offers endless enemy waves, local co-op for up to four players, 12 special weapons and power-ups, online leaderboards, and an adaptive soundtrack. Three difficulty settings—casual, normal, and nightmare—change the challenge. Full controller support is included.
