What is Shell Runner?
Set in a cyberpunk sprawl in 2045, Shell Runner casts players as mercenaries controlling remotely operated Shells for paid contracts.
It combines top-down tactical shooting with extraction and looter-shooter systems. Runs can be played solo or cooperatively, with money, equipment, loot, and the current Shell at stake when a mission goes badly. More than 20 Shells offer different roles, while melee weapons, firearms, explosives, and stat modifiers shape each loadout. Missions use procedurally generated maps, hand-built boss encounters, and random elements. Shells and items also receive random modifiers, making each contract vary in risk and potential rewards. Players must plan attacks and manage their equipment while facing enemies that can destroy a Shell quickly.
