Our take on Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms
Rather than following a conventional group of heroes, the game puts a demon that absorbs souls at the center of the story. Its setting also spans the mortal realm and a shadow world, where exploration includes both enemies and mystical puzzles.
What is Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms?
Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is an isometric action RPG set two decades after Kult: Heretic Kingdoms.
The player controls a demon called the Devourer, who takes in the souls of the dead and sends them back among the living as puppets. He can consume several souls, though absorbing more may shift his nature toward humanity or fragment his identity. Decisions shape the story’s direction, leading either to the world’s salvation or its ruin. The adventure moves between the mortal realm and a shadowy world, where the Devourer encounters foes and works through mystical puzzles. It also features a range of quests, battles with fantastical beings, varied characters and fighting approaches, and a party system.
