Our take on Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn
The bounce point arrives in the stage design: players must combine combat with traps and platform puzzles rather than treating each level as a straightforward fight. The six-stage structure may also feel brief for anyone expecting a large action-adventure campaign.
What is Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn?
Set in a dystopian 2029, Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn follows Hayate and Kaede as they fight through a futuristic concrete-and-steel landscape.
The remake combines katana combat, additional weapons, acrobatic movement, traps, and platform puzzles across six stages: five recreated stages and one new stage. Up to two players can play together locally as the two ninjas. Earned points can be spent in a tool shop to adjust the loadout for the next session. The game updates the original 8-bit presentation with modern sprite art and includes guitar-led retro music from Hiroshi Iwatsuki and Iku Mizutani.
