Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking deep modern strategy systems may hit the limit of the 30-square race format and its chance-based moves.
- Players wanting varied real-time action may bounce off the turn-by-turn pace and repeated board structure.
- Those looking for a large campaign may find the stated AI progression limited to 12 games.
Our take on Senet
The bounce point arrives when the 30-square board, chance-driven movement, and turn-based pacing become familiar. Players looking for expanding systems or broad campaign variety may run out of novelty after the compact 12-game AI progression.
What is Senet?
Senet is a two-player digital adaptation of an ancient Egyptian board game.
Players move pawns across a 30-square layout using throwsticks or knucklebones, combining strategy with chance while trying to remove all their pieces before the opponent. Matches can be played against an AI opponent, a friend, or in local multiplayer. The game includes three difficulty settings, with Hard hiding the interface, and supports mouse, gamepad, and Steam Deck touchscreen controls. A 12-game AI campaign unlocks boards and achievements. Custom Mode supports shorter matches with five pieces instead of seven and allows unlocked pieces to be mixed. Boards are presented as 3D replicas of museum-displayed examples.
