Our take on ScrewUp
The game trades a tightly focused structure for breadth: survival systems, crafting, combat, trading, factions, pets, island travel, and era changes all compete for attention. That range leaves less room for a single, narrowly developed gameplay loop.
What is ScrewUp?
ScrewUp is a survival sandbox set in a changing world of forests, deserts, tundras, mountains, and overlapping dimensions.
Players gather food, water, materials, tools, and other resources while crafting items, weapons, shelters, and bases. Hunting, trapping, fishing, foraging, fire-making, and first aid form part of the survival progression. Weather, storms, snow, fog, predators, and a day-night cycle affect exploration. The game includes combat, ships for reaching new islands, NPC interactions, factions, NPC trading, rare-item trading, pets, and character development. Players can switch between eras, encounter different environments and monsters, and bring a saved character with skills and possessions into a friend’s game.
