Our take on Scare: Project of Fear
The bounce point arrives when the monster appears and the game offers no attack or defense option. Players must immediately rely on running, lockers, or inaccessible spaces, and a failed attempt ends in permanent death rather than a checkpoint reload.
What is Scare: Project of Fear?
Scare: Project of Fear takes place in an old Japanese mansion where Yuna, one of several girls abducted by its monster, searches for an escape.
The creature emerged after Aika, the former owner’s daughter, died, driving her father into violence and further abductions. Yuna has no means of attacking or protecting herself, so she must flee, conceal herself, and pass through the building without being noticed. Stealth sections, puzzles, and environmental object interactions shape the gameplay. Lockers and spaces the monster cannot access offer shelter during chases. A death ends the current attempt and forces a restart. The story has two outcomes: a good ending and a bad ending.
How Scare: Project of Fear plays
- 01Stealth-Based Escape
- Yuna survives by avoiding the monster, fleeing from danger, and finding places where it cannot reach her.
- 02Environmental Puzzles
- Progress combines puzzle solving with interaction across the mansion’s surroundings.
- 03Permanent Death
- A death sends the player back to the beginning rather than continuing the current attempt.
- 04Two Endings
- The escape can conclude with either a good outcome or a bad outcome.
