Our take on Sail
The open-world presentation and broad list of activities sit alongside an Early Access beta status, possible bugs, and temporarily disabled cross-play. The multiplayer feature set is therefore currently presented with notable access and maturity limits.
What is Sail?
Sail is a multiplayer VR pirate game set in an open world of islands, treasure, and naval combat.
Crews can fight rival players in ship-to-ship battles or sword duels, while player-versus-environment encounters take place both on land and at sea. The game includes social lobbies, pirate appearance customization, experience points and leveling, treasure hunts based on riddles and puzzles, and an extraction mode where crews must escape with their loot. Players can choose pirate weapons for land combat or operate ship cannons with their crew. Sail is in Early Access and beta, and the store page notes that it may contain bugs. Cross-play is temporarily disabled while the developer works on its Steam anti-cheat system.
