Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for frequent combat or direct action will hit the nonviolent gameplay boundary.
- Players who need tightly scripted worlds may lose interest when repeated runs rely on procedural generation and random item placement.
- Players seeking a conventional, dialogue-heavy RPG may find the abstract story fragments and pilot voice logs too limited.
Our take on RymdResa
The bounce point arrives when exploration must carry the experience: there are no laser battles or exploding enemies, and the universe is intentionally sparse. Players who need combat-driven momentum may stop at the nonviolent structure, while those expecting a conventional plot may stall at the abstract voice logs and story fragments.
What is RymdResa?
RymdResa is a nonviolent space adventure with roguelike structure, RPG progression, and a procedurally generated universe.
Players travel through a sparse, solitary cosmos, locating planets, stars, spaceships, and other objects while managing exploration and survival. Each run presents randomized items that can improve the ship. Eight ships are available, each with eight equipment slots, including two that can be unlocked. Pilot progression supports different orientations focused on exploration, scavenging, survival, or technology. The game is divided into three chapters, with distinct gameplay and narratives; the third chapter takes place in another universe. Abstract story fragments, a voiced pilot log, pixel-based visuals, and ship-specific music accompany the journey.
