Rather than centering run progression on weapon and skill unlocks, this horde shooter uses combinable Runes to shape spells during play. The structure also carries progression between attempts through gold earned on death, which can buy passive bonuses.
What is Runic Survivor?
Runic Survivor is a casual horde shooter with roguelite elements and retro visuals.
Fight waves of monsters while working to break four Runic seals and defeat their guardians. Instead of unlocking weapons or skills during a run, find arcane Runes and combine them to create and modify spells on the fly. Spell effects can include fiery bolts that split into explosions after setting enemies alight, or an aura that pushes nearby enemies back. Mana limits spell use. Death grants gold, which can be spent on passive abilities and bonuses for later attempts. Once familiar with the game, players can raise the difficulty to face stronger enemies.
