Our take on Royal Defense
The description emphasizes an ongoing dwarven-versus-troll story, but its gameplay account centers on defending a headquarters through single-screen waves. The narrative premise is present, while the detail focuses on construction, upgrades, unit statistics, and spell use.
What is Royal Defense?
Defend a dwarven kingdom from troll attacks in 60 single-screen levels.
Each level sends successive waves of enemies against the headquarters. Build towers and units, manage gold and other resources, and use spells to stop the trolls from reaching their target. Tapping a location opens a menu of structures and units available to build there; tapping an existing structure shows upgrade options. Towers and units have statistics such as damage, firing rate, range, and damage type, alongside effects including slowing enemies and damage over time. The game includes 17 creature types, 12 tower and structure types, three game settings, and upgrades. New units and structures become available as levels progress.
