Our take on Rogue Dungeon
The defining structure is a five-level dungeon run where improvised loot chains can turn one item into the means of surviving a later encounter.
What is Rogue Dungeon?
Rogue Dungeon is a solo dungeon crawler based on a board game, with roguelike structure and hand management, card draws and dice rolls.
Choose a Rogue, starting loot, skills and statistics, then navigate five dungeon levels through mini maps. Rooms may offer trades, combat or traps. Combat combines a primary stat with a D10, while equipment, skills, food and potions can affect damage and health. Tests using Strength, Agility or Intelligence can bypass traps and award experience. Luck can change a die result by 1 or trigger a reroll. Rogues gain experience, level during the expedition and face a boss in the final room.
How Rogue Dungeon plays
- 01Five-Level Dungeon
- The expedition moves through five dungeon floors connected by staircases, with a boss waiting in the last room.
- 02Loot Management
- Items can be traded, consumed, used against particular monsters or exchanged for equipment, statistics and henchmen.
- 03Stat-Based Combat
- A Rogue's primary statistic is combined with a D10 to determine whether attacks hit, miss or injure both sides.
- 04Luck Manipulation
- Spending one point of luck changes a die result by one step or permits a complete reroll.
- 05Trap Tests
- Strength, Agility and Intelligence checks can disarm or bypass traps and provide experience when successful.
Rogue Dungeon compared to similar games
Rogue Dungeon focuses on solo dungeon exploration across five levels, with loot trading, stat tests, traps and D10 combat. Shogun Showdown centers on turn-based positioning, attack-tile upgrades and deck building before a fight with the Shogun. Back to the Dawn instead follows a prison-escape RPG structure involving investigation, survival and breaking out of a maximum-security facility.
