Our take on Roboden
Roboden shifts the command layer away from individual units: colony priorities guide behavior and production instead. That changes the usual hands-on approach associated with RTS games, placing emphasis on resource gathering, drone combinations, and experimenting with options across runs.
What is Roboden?
Roboden is an asymmetrical strategy game in which players control entire colonies rather than individual units.
Changing colony priorities influences their behavior and makes desired units more likely to be produced. Players collect resources, build drones, and combine them into higher-tier units. The game has about 30 drone types across 3 tiers and 5 modes: blitz, classic, arena, infinite arena, and reverse. Its 4 biomes are the moon, inferno, snowy tundra, and wisp forest. Procedural level generation includes extensive customization. Multiplayer offers split-screen local cooperative and competitive play; local multiplayer requires at least 1 controller. An online leaderboard is also included. The rogue-lite structure centers on trying combinations of units and options across runs.

Roboden compared to similar games
Roboden uses indirect colony control, resource gathering, drone combinations, and procedural levels, with cooperative and competitive modes. Men of War: Assault Squad focuses on commanding units in World War II combat, while Xenonauts uses turn-based small-squad strategy against an alien invasion. Shogun Showdown instead centers on turn-based combat, attack tiles, skills, and deck building.
