RPGIs Rise of Ages worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Sandbox players who want civilization building alongside exploration
- Crafting fans who prefer gathering resources across varied biomes
- Quest-focused players interested in stories spread across multiple eras
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a narrowly focused adventure may find the mix of crafting, survival, and city management too broad.
- Players who prefer a fixed setting may not enjoy progression that moves through six eras toward space travel.
- Players looking for a purely peaceful city builder may not want city-claiming warfare and boss fights.
Our take on Rise of Ages
The game combines personal exploration with city and workforce management, so its scope spans several play styles rather than concentrating on one. That breadth comes with a trade-off: players focused only on quests or only on civilization management may find neither activity is the sole focus.
What is Rise of Ages?
Rise of Ages is a 2D sandbox adventure that combines exploration, survival, crafting, and civilization building.
Begin in prehistory and progress through six eras, unlocking more than 30 technologies and new items. Explore biomes for resources, complete quests, and fight bosses. Found cities, invite NPCs, assign them professions, and organize production, including supply chains. Cities can be claimed through war as the civilization expands. Character genetics develop over time, adding skills and improving vital attributes. The world map connects multiple regions, and later progression reaches other planets. Each era includes a story and quests, with side quests also available.
