Our take on Rheum
Its defining structure is a reverse vertical descent: an eyeball moves downward through an infected body while collecting eye crusties and fighting incoming bullets.
What is Rheum?
Rheum is a reverse vertical-scrolling shoot-'em-up set inside a body affected by viruses.
Players control an eyeball descending through a fleshly vessel, collecting rheum, or eye crusties, to grow stronger while fighting enemies and large bosses. Pupil upgrades improve the character, and cornea-based eye blasts clear bullets from the screen. The game includes two difficulty modes, stackable power-ups, six unlockable characters, secret boss fights, and an unlockable endless mode with additional upgrades and challenges. Online leaderboards support high-score competition. Keyboard and controller support, cheat codes, and an original soundtrack are also included.
