Our take on Revans
The main bounce point is leaving a map: checkpoints do not preserve a resume point after exit, so progress restarts from the map's start. Players who rely on autosaves or quicksaves will meet that limit immediately, while a full map can take 40–50 minutes.
What is Revans?
Set in a secluded castle in Transylvania during an alternate version of the Second World War, Revans is a solo first-person shooter focused on missions against enemy forces.
Players complete tasks, advance through ranks, find weapons and add optics, silencers, or bayonets. The large maps include labyrinths, secret doors, checkpoints, and ghosts that appear at night; garlic can be used against the ghosts. Progress depends on careful movement and using the environment, with no arrows or through-wall markers to guide the way.
Lighting and shadows are recalculated in real time, and the time of day changes. There are no autosaves or quicksaves: leaving a map means restarting it from its start point, even if a checkpoint was reached. A map may take 40–50 minutes to finish.
