Our take on Remoteness
Electricity has two distinct roles: rain can turn it into a crossbow boost, while underground metro trading places use it as currency. This links weather, combat, and resource management through one central system.
What is Remoteness?
Set in New York in 2034, Remoteness follows a survivor trapped in a district isolated after an electrical meteor shower.
The player explores the open-world City, Chinatown, and underground areas while fighting soldiers, monsters, and other creatures. A crossbow, found weapons, useful items, and the drone Hanna support survival, while a required periodic injection adds an ongoing need to manage. A 24-hour cycle and changing rain affect visibility, enemy behavior, and the use of electricity. During the day, soldiers can spot the player more easily, while darkness supports stealth but brings risks in dark areas. Electricity can boost the crossbow during rain or serve as currency at underground metro trading places.
How Remoteness plays
- 01Three Open Areas
- The City, Chinatown, and underground districts can be explored freely.
- 02Weather-Linked Electricity
- Rain lets electricity boost the crossbow, while underground metro traders accept it as currency.
- 03Changing Enemy Behavior
- Soldiers and creatures respond to player actions and current weather conditions.
- 04Day And Night Cycle
- Daylight increases the chance of being seen by soldiers, while nighttime supports stealth and exposes dangers in dark places.
- 05Survival Equipment
- The player can use a crossbow, collect weapons and items, and travel with the drone Hanna.
