Our take on Reclusive
The focus on isolation and darkness creates a narrow, tense setting rather than a broad adventure space. That concentration leaves less room for varied environments, while story decisions provide some variation within the island journey.
What is Reclusive?
Reclusive follows Robert Livingston, who travels to an abandoned island in the Arctic Ocean with limited provisions.
The setting contains unexplained phenomena, dangerous creatures, and pervasive darkness. Players search for supplies, complete quests, and make decisions that can lead to different endings. Jack, a faithful shaggy companion, accompanies the traveler and assists with difficulties during the journey. After receiving a distress signal from a passing ship's captain, the traveler must repair an old lighthouse to prevent the vessel from hitting the rocks. The adventure combines island exploration, resource searches, quest progression, story choices, lighthouse repair, and attempts to avoid encounters with monsters.
