Our take on Re:Turn 2 - Runaway
Its defining structure is a haunted-train escape story where Saki’s immediate survival depends on choosing between hiding, running, and confronting the supernatural threat. Those decisions sit alongside clue gathering and the attempt to uncover Ayumi’s concealed history.
What is Re:Turn 2 - Runaway?
Re:Turn 2 - Runaway is a 2D psychological horror adventure that picks up after the previous game.
Saki and her fiancé Sen are stranded on an empty train where Ayumi, a malevolent spirit shaped like a young girl, haunts the carriages. Players explore the train and deserted, mysterious places, look for clues, and put found tools to use against supernatural threats. Saki’s choices—whether to flee, hide, or confront the danger—carry consequences. She must uncover the truth behind Ayumi’s past, escape the nightmare, and release the souls held by the possession. The game presents its world through side-scrolling scenes, pixel art, hand-illustrated imagery, animation, and a newly created soundtrack and sound design.
