Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed character build may hit a wall when toxic exposure changes the protagonist’s body and abilities.
- Players who want a predictable setting may struggle once the changing wasteland and its toxins shape the journey.
- Players looking specifically for multiplayer shooting may prefer a game built around that format.
Our take on RAD
Players who want to keep a fixed character build may hit the wall when toxic exposure starts changing the protagonist’s body. Mutations provide new abilities, so avoiding those changes would conflict with the game’s central progression system.
What is RAD?
RAD is a 3D action roguelike set in a world that has endured two apocalypses.
Players control a teenage protagonist who enters the Fallow, a changing radioactive wasteland filled with strange creatures. The journey uses a bat for combat and exposes the protagonist to toxins that alter the body. These mutations provide new abilities while making the character less human. Progress centers on venturing deeper into the wasteland, fighting its inhabitants, and adapting to the physical changes caused by toxic exposure. The fate of humanity depends on the protagonist’s journey through the Fallow and the abilities gained along the way.
How RAD plays
- 01Mutation abilities
- Toxic exposure changes the protagonist’s body and grants new abilities during the journey.
- 02Changing wasteland
- The Fallow is a radioactive environment that changes as the protagonist explores it.
- 03Bat combat
- The protagonist uses a bat while facing creatures in the Fallow.
RAD compared to similar games
RAD uses a bat, mutation-based character changes, and an evolving radioactive wasteland. Abyssus instead focuses on multiplayer shooting, hand-crafted levels, brine-powered weapons, and weapon modifications using ancient technologies.
