- Players who enjoy choosing among distinct fantasy character classes
- Roguelike players who want permadeath and selectable difficulty
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a forgiving run structure may find character death ending the game restrictive.
- Players looking for a fixed dungeon layout may find changing procedural placements less suited to planned exploration.
- Players seeking a story-led RPG with an expansive narrative may find the stated goal and dungeon-crawling loop narrow.
Our take on Quest of Dungeons
Procedural layouts and permadeath make each run distinct, but they also limit continuity: a death ends the run, and the changing placements do not support repeating a fixed route.
What is Quest of Dungeons?
Quest of Dungeons is a turn-based dungeon crawler with pixel art inspired by 16-bit games.
Choose a Warrior, Wizard, Assassin, or Shaman, then explore dungeons, battle enemies, and gather loot. The dungeons, weapons, enemy placements, and items are procedurally generated, so their locations change between runs. Skills can be learned from Tomes found during exploration, and shops let players buy and sell items and weapons. Quests and boss encounters add objectives along the way. Four difficulty levels are available, and permadeath ends a run when the character dies. The goal is to enter the Dark Lord’s lair and defeat him. Leaderboards let players compare Adventure points with the community.
