Our take on Quanect
The two-reality design gives the game a focused puzzle identity, but it also limits variety to manipulating spaces, objects, and movement across parallel room layouts.
What is Quanect?
Quanect is a puzzle adventure game built around two versions of the same room.
Objects and their locations differ between realities, and progression requires switching between them to find an exit. A special device mirrors the player’s movements in the other reality and displays that counterpart on a surface. Portals connect the two versions and reveal the location of corresponding portals. Boxes can activate mechanisms and move between realities, while buttons, pressure plates, and moving platforms affect the environment. Some sections also require platforming across both realities. Each level combines observation, movement, and interaction with room-based mechanisms.
How Quanect plays
- 01Dual-reality puzzles
- Different object placements across parallel room versions create the routes needed to reach each exit.
- 02Movement mirroring
- A special device reproduces the player’s actions in the alternate reality and displays that position on a mirror surface.
- 03Portal navigation
- Portals connect the room variations and provide views toward linked portals in the other reality.
- 04Interactive mechanisms
- Boxes, buttons, pressure plates, and moving platforms alter how each room can be traversed.
- 05Two-reality platforming
- Some traversal sections require movement through both versions of the environment.
