Our take on Quadrata
The defining constraint is that the same keys control two characters on opposite sides, making each move affect both parts of the puzzle.
What is Quadrata?
Quadrata is a minimalist logic puzzle with 90 levels.
Players control two characters, one on each side, using the same keys to move in four directions and collect diamonds before running out of moves. Walls can be used to alter movement, portals allow teleportation, and triangles are hazards. The game introduces new mechanics every 10 levels, building up to 8 unique mechanics. An unlimited undo option lets players revise moves. It also includes a level editor, gamepad support, Steam Achievements, and Steam Cloud. The presentation uses a minimalist interface, has no text, and features procedural music.
How Quadrata plays
- 01Shared-key controls
- Each input moves characters on both sides, so a move must account for both positions.
- 02Move-limited puzzles
- Diamond collection must be completed within a restricted number of moves.
- 03Mechanic progression
- New mechanics appear every 10 levels, across 8 unique mechanics.
- 04Unlimited undo
- Previous moves can be reversed while working through a level.
- 05Level editor
- The game includes tools for creating levels.
