Our take on Project X: Light Years
The focus on demanding arcade combat gives up a broader adventure structure. Its stages, score systems, and repeated runs emphasize practice and mastery rather than varied exploration or a slower narrative pace.
What is Project X: Light Years?
Project X: Light Years is a side-scrolling shoot’em-up in which players pilot spacecraft through hazardous stages, enemy waves, and large bosses.
Combat includes several weapon loadouts, ship improvements, randomized power-ups, and an advanced scoring system based on performance. Local co-op supports two players, while online leaderboards and seasons add score competition. The game offers 5 modes and 5 difficulty levels, including Casual Mode with 99 credits and Tiny Wings, which removes bosses and reduces the number of waves. An advanced continue system allows credits to be used after defeat, saved sessions to be resumed, or completed levels to be restarted. The RELOADED update adds a Rogue-lite Career mode.
