Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for low-stakes races may find the online mode's vehicle losses a poor match.
- Those seeking a broad set of solo activities may find the campaign's task-and-reward structure limited.
- Players looking for horse racing or drone flight simulation may prefer a game centered on those activities.
Our take on Project Hover
The vehicle-takeover mode raises the stakes of multiplayer racing, but makes losing consequential: the first three finishers can claim hovercars from players who lose. That trade-off places vehicle risk at the center of competition rather than keeping each race's outcome to rankings and rewards.
What is Project Hover?
Project Hover is an arcade racing game with single-player and online multiplayer.
The solo campaign includes tasks that award rewards, while the main online mode lets the first three race finishers choose a hovercar from players who lose. Races use hovercars from three factions: Retro, Eurasia, and Pan America. Each faction has its own vehicles, driving characteristics, and assigned tracks. Hovercars differ in weight, speed, and handling, and tracks span surfaces including roads, water, and snow. Five biomes vary track surfaces and difficulty, and affect vehicle control and race rewards. Players build a reputation with each faction through race performance, which influences access to more advanced and costly hovercars. The game also includes online competition with rankings and cash rewards.
