What is Press Ctrl?
Press Ctrl is a meta-adventure puzzle game built around nested avatar control.
The player directs one character through an in-game keyboard, while that character controls another avatar, creating a chain of linked inputs. Progress depends on managing these overlapping control layers across four levels that increase in difficulty. The game includes unusual thumb-shaped creatures, Steam achievements, and a fourth level added to the newer version. It originated during GMTKJam 2020 around the theme “Out of Control” and received the event’s highest originality ranking among more than 5. 4K submissions.
