The first hurdle arrives as soon as movement begins: there is no steering, transmission, or braking, only arm control. Players who cannot get comfortable manipulating the backhoe this way may bounce off before the climbing and puzzle challenges have a chance to unfold.
What is BH Trials?
BH Trials is an obstacle-course game in which a backhoe has no transmission, steering, or brakes; movement comes from controlling its articulated arm.
In single-player trials, increasingly difficult levels combine climbing, crawling, platform manipulation, mechanisms, and hazards. Reaching the end quickly unlocks levels and game modes. Multiplayer levels feature a four-legged backhoe that up to four players can control together, locally or online through Steam Together; these levels can also be played solo for an extra challenge. Hidden miniature diggers appear in hard-to-reach places, and collecting them unlocks additional modes and multiplayer areas. The game records best performances as ghosts for replaying levels and includes friend and global leaderboards. Controls support keyboard and mouse, gamepads, and the Steel Battalion Controller.
