Our take on Prescience
The defining mechanic is a bag of black and white stones: the order drawn determines which skills can be cast.
What is Prescience?
Prescience is a single-player deckbuilder built around drawing stones from a bag: the sequence determines which skills can be used.
Add black Yin and white Yang stones, and adjust their proportions to affect the likelihood of a perfect cast. Select a school and skills, then collect passive abilities and books for skills on each run. Some skills come in several volumes; equipping multiple volumes of the same skill raises its strength. Travel across a map by selecting tiles along a route, keeping an eye on a limited energy bar. Choose whether to visit every tile or pass over some fights. A cat is also part of the game.
How Prescience plays
- 01Stone draw casting
- The sequence of black and white stones drawn from the bag determines whether a skill can be used.
- 02Multi-volume skills
- Equipping multiple volumes of the same skill increases its power.
- 03Energy-limited routes
- Map exploration involves choosing which tiles to visit while managing a finite energy bar.
