Rather than using chess as a contest between opposing sides, Knight Swap turns a classic knight-swapping problem into a sequence of spatial puzzles. The objective remains the exchange of positions, while changing board features—not a wider set of chess moves—supply the variation.
What is Knight Swap?
Knight Swap is a minimalist puzzle game built around the chess problem of exchanging knights.
In each of its 100 handcrafted levels, the goal is to move the white knights to the black knights’ starting positions and the black knights to the white knights’ starting positions. Board elements alter how each puzzle works: some sections rotate partially or completely, while trigger buttons, teleportation tiles, and movable parts add further obstacles and possibilities. The levels increase in complexity, while the core task stays focused on moving knights across the board. The game includes originally composed music. Its puzzle rules are presented as accessible even to people who have never played chess.
