Our take on Power Hover
The focus on steering through structured courses leaves less room for broader exploration or varied action systems. Its story is delivered through small interactive scenes, trading extended narrative development for continued movement through the levels.
What is Power Hover?
Power Hover is an action-racing game about robots riding hoverboards through a decaying world.
Players steer left and right, pass over 35 handcrafted levels, avoid hazards, and collect energy. The hoverboard enables gravity-defying movement, including sections where riders travel sideways or upside down. A camera system presents changing angles while the player navigates each course. The story begins after a robot village loses all its power and unfolds through small interactive cutscenes during the journey. Environments include varied landscapes and themes, with exploration across areas such as oceans and dunes. Challenge levels and a Challenge mode let players compete with friends. The game uses a pseudo-low-poly art style and features a soundtrack by Ted Striker.
