Is Plunge worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle fans who want turn-based movement challenges
- Roguelike players who prefer short runs through changing levels
- Strategy players who enjoy planning around enemy patterns
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want direct, real-time control may hit a wall with the turn-based structure.
- Players who dislike slippery movement may struggle when ice physics affect navigation and dodging.
- Players seeking a fixed campaign may find the randomized floors and repeated runs a poor match.
Our take on Plunge
The bounce point is the movement system: sliding physics govern both navigation and evasive moves. Players expecting precise, immediate positioning may hit a wall before they settle into reading enemy patterns and planning each turn.
What is Plunge?
Plunge follows Billie, an inmate in a strange medieval super-prison, on a downward escape route toward freedom.
Each turn-based dungeon encounter asks players to slide across icy surfaces, avoid hazards, and overcome guards, monsters, and supernatural foes with distinctive behavior. Floors function as self-contained tests of strategy and physical force. The game offers Billie and several other illustrated criminals as playable characters. Its roguelike format assembles more than 400 randomized stages within three sections, while short runs and individual-floor challenges support quick sessions and repeated attempts.
How Plunge plays
- 01Sliding Movement
- Ice physics affect how players move, dodge enemies, and approach each floor.
- 02Patterned Enemies
- Guards, creatures, and otherworldly beings present distinct movement or behavior patterns.
- 03Randomized Floors
- More than 400 randomly selected levels are spread across three separate sections.
- 04Character Selection
- Players can control Billie or choose from other cartoony characters with criminal charges.
Plunge compared to similar games
Plunge uses turn-based roguelike dungeon challenges with sliding movement and more than 400 randomly selected levels. Quasimorph also uses a roguelike structure, but its description centers on corporate contracts, extracted resources, and a cyberpunk body-horror setting. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened instead combines cooperative action RPG play with tower defense, loot, leveling, pets, and character customization.
